About Me

My Journey in Psychology

Psychology has fascinated me since I was sixteen, when my best friend Liz gave me "The Road Less Travelled" by M. Scott Peck—a book I treasure to this day! That early spark led me through an undergraduate degree, master's, and PhD in psychology, as well as four years of supervised training to become a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society and member of the European Federation of Sport Psychology.

My Approach

I specialise in Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT) for elite performers across sport, business, and leadership contexts, having trained at the world-renowned Albert Ellis Institute in New York with leading experts in the field. My expertise is further grounded in doctoral research supervised by Dr Martin Turner, a leading authority on REBT in performance psychology. What makes REBT so powerful for performance is its elegance—it helps high achievers develop unshakeable mental resilience by identifying and eliminating the irrational beliefs that sabotage peak performance at their philosophical roots.

Working with athletes, coaches, teams, and executive leaders, I focus on transforming performance-limiting beliefs like perfectionism, fear of failure, and approval-seeking into rational, performance-enhancing mindsets. By challenging these deep-rooted cognitive distortions, clients learn to maintain optimal emotional states under pressure, recover quickly from setbacks, and perform with confidence regardless of external circumstances.

I also integrate evidence-based cognitive behavioural interventions specifically designed for performance enhancement—helping clients develop practical skills for managing high-stakes situations, maintaining focus during critical moments, and bouncing back from disappointments. This approach addresses both the psychological barriers that limit performance and builds the mental skills necessary for sustained excellence.

The result is performers who not only achieve better outcomes but also experience greater satisfaction and longevity in their field, equipped with a robust philosophical framework that serves them both in their professional performance and in life.

My Qualifications

Other things that I’m passionate about

My Writing Journey

Writing has always been a passion of mine, though I'll admit I've struggled with expressing my thoughts clearly and avoiding those pesky typos! As someone who's naturally quite introverted, I've discovered that writing gives me a wonderful way to share what goes on in this psychologist's mind—both with my clients and anyone curious about the field.

There's something deeply satisfying about the writing process that I've come to love. It allows me to explore ideas more thoroughly and connect with people in a way that feels authentic to me. I regularly publish articles sharing insights from my practice and psychological research.

Through my writing, I hope to make psychology more accessible and give people a genuine glimpse into how I think about the challenges we all face in life.

My Love for Exploration

I've always been drawn to the wider world—so much so that I had a map on my bedroom wall throughout my entire childhood. When I moved to my first grown-up house, I missed it terribly and immediately bought another one, framed it, and hung it proudly in my living room.

That wanderlust wasn't just decoration. In my early twenties, I moved to Southeast Asia, making it my home for the better part of two decades while exploring that fascinating corner of the planet. These days, I've settled in Switzerland, where I'm discovering the beauty of the Alps and neighbouring countries. Italy is very high on my current travel agenda!

I'm a natural adventurer at heart. Whether I'm hiking, trail running, or ski touring in the backcountry, there's something incredible about being up high in the mountains that feeds my soul. Most weekends, you'll find me, my husband, and our two dogs somewhere up there, exploring new trails and peaks.

This love for exploration—whether across continents or up mountain faces—shapes how I work. I bring genuine curiosity about different perspectives and experiences to every session, and I understand the mental resilience that comes from pushing boundaries and embracing challenges.
