Coachability.

Resilience, discipline, endurance, and talent are words that might spring to mind if I ask you to describe the attributes of an elite performer. Indeed, some of these words a painted on the Olympic running track at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. When I first visited the museum a few years ago my partner asked me a question before I entered the gates of the museum and saw these words of attribution painted on the ground. He quizzed me, "Name a characteristic that makes an Olympic Athlete" I failed his quiz because my answer didn't match any of the words painted on the ground.

In my view, the most fundamental characteristic that brings about success for an individual is their Coachability. Their ability to accept and adapt to feedback. To be curious and critical of their performances, their training and their team's performances all with a view of working in line with the Olympic Motto-

Faster - Higher - Stronger.
